Camp Lukban, Catbalogan City –The Municipality of Lawaan is the latest Municipality of Eastern Samar which has been declared as Manageable Conflict Affected and Ready for Development Area (MCA-RDA) by the Local Government Unit of Lawaan, Military, and PNP through a Municipal Resolution No. 24, series of 2012 in a simple and memorable ceremony held at the Municipal Hall of Lawaan last February 27, 2013.
“I would like to express my utmost gratitude to the Civil-Military Operations Battalion under Lt Col Niceforo M Diaz Jr and the 14th Infantry (Avenger) Battalion under Lt Col Napoleon Z De Vera for the continuous support extended to us in recommending our Municipality as MCA-RDA municipality” Hon Candida Gabornes, Mayor of Lawaan, ESamar said.
“Through this declaration, we will continually exert all our efforts by cooperating, assisting and supporting the military and PNP in maintaining peace and order in our municipality” added Gabornes.
“The peace and order situation in Lawaan is credited not only to the military but to the local leaders and the people in general,” BGen Romeo Labador, Brigade Commander of 801st Infantry Brigade, 8ID said.
“We can attain peace if we work together in the spirit of ‘Bayanihan’, and we can foresee that Lawaan will soon become a developed Municipality in the near future,” Labador added.
