4 NPA killed in Maco, Comval clash

NSFA, Panacan, Davao City – Four NPA were killed in a separate encounters with government troops in Sitio Lin-ao, Brgy. Teresa and Brgy Malamodao both of Maco, Compostela Valley Province Wednesday & Friday morning. The clashes resulted to the recovery of one hand grenade, magazines for M16 and backpacks while no casualty on the government side.
Residents in the area reported that two female NPA were among those three killed in Brgy Teresa clash who died due to loss of blood but were recovered and concealed somewhere in the forested area by the NPA while another NPA was killed in Brgy. Malamodao 30 minute fire fight. Troops from the 71st Infantry Battalion are on its efforts to identify and locate more casualties as reported by civilians.
Civilians in the area requested military for a regular security patrols for their protection from NPA harassments and extortion activities in the said barangays. Joint Army-PNP elements are now still on pursuit operations.
Eastern Mindanao Command Commander Lt. Gen. Ricardo Rainier G. Cruz III encouraged the residents to continue to report to the nearest military & PNP units the NPA presence and extortion activities happening in their respective communities. “In our Bayanihan, we will prevail against the NPA”. Lt. Gen. Cruz said.
