Part of their activities was the study mission to Timor Leste to understand the Timorese Governance and the inner workings of their politics.
A forum on understanding the assertion for meaningful autonomy and right to self-determination by the Bangsamoro, and indigenous peoples in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was one of the major activities conducted.
The delegation was accompanied by the Timor Leste key organizers, Dr Helder da Costa, Secretary-General of g7+, and the Executive Director of Chega! National Center Dr Hugo Fernandez.
In a report received by Luwaran says that the delegates have met with the Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak at the Palacio do Governor, and observed a regular Parliamentary Session of the National Parliament, briefed the Timorese media, interacted with women Members of the Parliament led by Hon. MP Lita Sarmento, Deputy of the National Timor Leste Parliament.
It also received a copy of Timor Leste's "Chega!" Transitional Justice Report put together by the CAVR from Hon. Ines Almeida, the Chair of the Board of CNC and Ministry of Veterans Affairs, and the Ambassador-designate to Australia, and a conversation with the mission delegation and civil society representatives and Chega! national center staff on the issues in the Bangsamoro region.
The Mindanao Peace Weavers social media account posted that the learning and solidarity visit were made possible through the project "Democratic Leadership and Civil Society Empowerment in the Bangsamoro" (DELACSE Bangsamoro 2) with the following key organizers: Initiatives for International Dialogue (IID) - Philippine organizer, and g7+ Secretariat and Nacional Centre Chega! (CNC) - Timor Leste organizers who also hosted and mobilized logistical support for the Philippine delegation in their entire stay in Timor Leste.
Mindanao Peace advocates, Human Rights Groups visit Timor Leste, commemorate 71st Universal Declaration of Human Rights
