AFP Chief welcomes US Army Pacific Commanding General, strengthens bilateral relations
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – General Romeo Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff
of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), welcomed General
Charles Flynn, Commanding General, US Army Pacific, on an office call
fostering stronger ties, here on April 30, 2024.
The
meeting highlighted AFP's optimism in the longstanding PH-US alliance.
It reaffirmed the commitment to strengthen defense cooperation and
stressed the shared dedication to promoting peace, stability, and
prosperity.
General
Brawner Jr. expressed gratitude for the continuous support extended by
the US Army in advancing the AFP's technological ventures. He also added
the importance of the ongoing dialogue with the US, facilitating
integrated mechanisms in expanding the annual Balikatan exercise.
The call underpinned the AFP's efforts on the ongoing regional
developments, emphasizing the importance of rules-based order, respect
for international law, and peaceful resolution of disputes in the
Indo-Pacific region.
