NPA, Arrested for Criminal Cases
Camp Elias Angeles, Pili, Camarines Sur - Joint elements of 42nd Infantry Battalion of the 9th Infantry Division, Philippine Army led by 1LT Karl Edwin G Guardacasa with Camarines Sur Police Public Safety Company; and Eastern Metro Manila, CIDG, arrested Sandy MALACA @ JAMAY/ENJIL/ARJIN, former CO of Komite 2, KLG 77, Bicol Regional Party Committee in Brgy Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City by virtue of warrant of arrest with Criminal Case No: T-4032 for Murder issued by Hon Judge Noel D Paulite of RTC, 5th Judicial Region, Branch 30, San Jose, Camarines Sur on May 5, at around 3:30pm.
The arrested NPA was immediately brought to Eastern Metro Manila, CIDG at Camp Crame for booking purposes. He was then transported and escorted by the Camarines Sur Police Public Safety Company led by P/INSP Larry Bremen back to Bicol for return of the warrant at RTC, 5th Judicial Region, Branch 30, San Jose, Camarines Sur this morning, May 6.
Lieutenant Colonel Lenart Lelina revealed that on 2010-2011, his group was responsible in the series of atrocities such as the burning of heavy equipment constructing the Minalabac road; extortion from Barangay officials for Permit to Campaign (PTC) during the election period; and the murder of a CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) in Brgy San Roque Heights, Bula, Camarines Sur. Appropriate charges awaits upon his return.
Major General Yerson E Depayso, Commander of 9th Infantry (Spear) Division said that 9ID is ready to impose its forces shall it be needed, and exhaust all efforts to put NPA members who are guilty of crimes in the bars of justice, in partnership with the other government agencies such as the PNP, and the general public.
