Armor Division celebrates its 46th Anniversary
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armor (Pambato) Division of the Philippine Army celebrates its 46th founding anniversary in Camp O'Donnell, Capas, Tarlac on Thursday, June 16.
The Commander of the Armor Division Major General Efren Baluyot together with the commanders of various Armor units celebrated the anniversary with the AFP Chief of Staff, General Andres Centino as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.
The celebration was anchored on the theme “Makabagong Armor sa Pagsulong ng Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran.”
One of the highlights of the activity was the recognition feted to outstanding Armor unit, Officer, Enlisted Personnel and civilian stakeholders.
The AFP Chief of Staff commended the Pambato Division for its various accomplishments, notable of which were the neutralization of key target personalities, surrender of several Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters, and the capture of numerous firearms both from communist and local terrorist groups.
Significant also was the reactivation of the 1st Tank Battalion in anticipation of the completion and delivery of more modern Armor assets.
“This year, we will realize our aspiration to become a more modernized, reliable, capable and decisive armor unit, through the delivery of the state of the art armored assets that will increase our capability against both local and external threats”, said Major General Baluyot.
From an Army component mounted on horseback, the Armor (Pambato) Division of today proudly hosts a horde of modern tanks with top-notch weapons systems, highly trained personnel, and a broader role in the execution of the AFP’s peace and development efforts.
“With the development of our modernization program, the Armor Division translated its vision into tangible actions in preparation for its complete transformation or transition into becoming a modern and highly competent Armor Division of the Philippine Army,” the AFP Chief of Staff said./// (Photo by A2C Ted Castro PAF/PAOAFP)
