Four NPA terrorists killed, six firearms seized in Negros Occidental encounter
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—Four members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) were killed in an encounter with troops of the 94th Infantry Battalion in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental on March 1.
Responding to information from residents, the soldiers conducted combat operations against the communist terrorists who were extorting food and supplies in Barangay Carabalan. This resulted in the encounter against around 20 CTG members, yielding six firearms consisting of 2 M16 rifles, 2 M203 grenade launchers, and 2 AK47 rifles.
BGen Marion R Sison PA, commander of the 3rd Infantry Division covering the area, lauded the partnership between the military and the residents and urged struggling communist terrorists to surrender.
"We will not allow you to continue harming our people. Expect relentless and intensified military operations in the coming days and weeks, for we are determined to protect Negrenses from your atrocities. Despite this, we are still offering you peace to start a new life with your family, but if you insist on doing terrorism, we can be your worst nightmare," said BGen Sison.///(Story and photo by 9IB)
