AFP delivers Christmas packages to troops in the WPS
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) delivered noche buena packages and completed the sustainment mission for all Philippine-occupied features in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) from December 3 to 14, 2024.
The Western Command led the transport of essential life support and sustainment provisions to troops stationed in remote outposts, efficiently conducting unloading and backloading operations. As part of the AFP's 89th Founding Anniversary, the mission also delivered Christmas packages to boost the morale of sailors and marines deployed in the WPS during the holiday season.
The mission highlights the AFP's unwavering commitment to ensuring the welfare of its personnel, especially those stationed in isolated and challenging locations, while maintaining a resolute presence in the WPS. It further underscores the AFP's dedication to protecting the nation's maritime domain and upholding Philippine sovereignty and sovereign rights.
"The AFP remains steadfast in carrying out its mandate in full accordance with international law and the rules-based international order," the AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr said. "Likewise, we will not forget the sacrifices of our troops deployed in these remote stations, far from their family, this Christmas season. They are our inspiration."
